Death, oh Death! why now do you appear,
With your chilling touch, so heavy to bear?
In this moment so sudden, so hard to perceive,
Why have you come, causing hearts to grieve?
Life dances on with a joyful tune,
Until the day we face your presence soon.
We build our dreams, with hope in our eyes,
But you, Death, bring sorrow and silent cries.
Why now, Death, must you steal our loved ones away,
Leaving us to wrestle with the questions, we pray?
Like a thief in the night, you silently creep,
Taking our dear ones, leaving us to weep.
With each passing soul, a void is left behind,
A chorus of sorrow, in our hearts we find.
A life extinguished, like a flickering flame,
Leaving behind memories, too precious to name.
Oh Death!, can you not grant us a reprieve?
A chance to hold our loved ones and never leave?
But alas, you are relentless, your presence so real,
A reminder of mortality's looming ordeal.
Yet, in this darkness, may there be a light,
A hope in the midst of eternal night.
For though you take, Death, you cannot take all,
Love persists, unyielding, standing tall.
In the face of your power, we find strength to endure,
To cherish the memories, to remember the pure.
We gather together, united in grief,
Finding solace in love, finding a sense of relief.
Death, oh Death!, perhaps you have a role,
To teach us new lessons, to awaken our soul.
To remind us of life's fragile, fleeting embrace,
And to live with love, in every breath we trace.
So, Death, though you visit without invitation,
You cannot tarnish our hearts' dedication,
To honor the departed, to keep their flame bright,
And to embrace life's journey, both day and night.
For in the face of your darkness, we find a way,
To celebrate life, with memories that stay.
And even in sorrow, we will stand tall,
As death unites us, reminding us all.
