Under the influence of a fleeting breeze,
My mind drifts soft, like autumn leaves.
Carried away by thoughts unchained,
In realms where only dreams remain.
The world spins wild in a distant haze,
Colors blend in endless maze.
What once was clear, now fades away,
Reality bends, begins to sway.
A touch of laughter, a taste of fire,
In whispered words, I climb higher.
All senses sharp, yet blurred at once,
Caught in this strange, alluring dance.
Under the influence of something more,
I see the world through a different door.
Time slows down, and thoughts take flight,
Guided by an unseen light.
The stars themselves seem closer now,
As if to teach me why and how.
We lose ourselves in moments brief,
And chase the wind without relief.
Each breath I take, each pulse that flows,
Leads me where the river goes.
An altered state, a fleeting bliss,
Reality reduced to this.
The lines that bound me melt away,
In swirls of night and shades of gray.
I float between the here and gone,
Where all that's right feels somehow wrong.
I chase the high, I chase the glow,
To places only shadows go.
A thirst that lingers deep inside,
No matter where I choose to hide.
And yet, beneath this altered sight,
I glimpse a truth, a quiet light.
For even in the rush and spin,
There's something still that stirs within.
The pull is strong, but I remain,
Tethered to the earthly plane.
Under the influence, I dance with grace,
But always return to my own space.
For when the haze begins to part,
I find my way back to the start.
Though I've been swept beyond control,
I still return to claim my soul.
