Who did we offend, to be trapped in this pain?
What wicked deeds have we done to deserve such disdain?
The world around us, once vibrant and kind,
Now echoes with sorrow, chaos entwined.
Was it the birds we silenced in cages of despair?
Or the trees we felled, leaving nature gasping for air?
Perhaps it was the creatures we hunted for sport,
Ignoring their pleas, their lives cut short.
Did we offend the river, now polluted and grim?
Its once shimmering glory, tarnished within.
Or was it the oceans, suffocating with waste,
As our relentless greed left them in haste?
Who did we offend, to witness this plight?
Where injustice prevails, casting shadows at night.
Is it the innocent children, suffering in war,
Their dreams shattered, hopes washed ashore?
Did we offend the voiceless, the marginalized, the weak,
Whose pleas fell on deaf ears, no solace to seek?
Or did we offend our own hearts, misguided and blind,
Neglecting compassion, leaving empathy behind?
Who did we offend, for love to lose its way,
Between brothers and sisters, led astray?
In a world so divided, torn apart by hate,
Where bridges collapse, leaving only blind fate.
Perhaps we offended our shared humanity,
Forgetting that kindness is our true sanity.
Let us reflect, awaken from this slumber,
Embrace compassion, rebuild and recover.
No longer shall we ignore the cries of the earth,
No longer shall we let compassion's flame be smothered.
For in unity and love, we shall find our way,
Healing the wounds, restoring the day.
So let us rise with courage, with hearts pure and bright,
Together we'll mend, creating a world of light.
For it's in our power to bring hope to an end,
To rewrite the story of "Who did we offend?"
