From the fire of trust once bright,
Now only embers glow through the night.
Promises spoken, hollow and frail,
Crumbled beneath the weight of betrayal.
The warmth we shared, now turned to dust,
Blown by winds of broken trust.
Whispers of secrets, sharp and cold,
Choked the bond we tried to hold.
A glance, a word, unspoken lies,
Clouds of deceit in once clear skies.
What was hidden now revealed,
Truth, once veiled, no longer sealed.
I watched the flames consume the past,
Each moment burned, each hope outcast.
The love we built, now set ablaze,
Lost in a smoky, endless haze.
The ashes settle, grey and thin,
Marking the places where we've been.
Every tear, a silent plea,
For what was us, and what could be.
But in the rubble, shadows creep,
Of promises we couldn't keep.
A heart so weary, torn apart,
Yearning for a fresh new start.
With every step, the ground grows cold,
Beneath the weight of lies retold.
I search for meaning in the char,
For answers in the distant star.
Yet silence answers back to me,
A void where love used to be.
The echoes linger, sharp and wild,
Of trust once fragile, now defiled.
Now from these ruins I must rise,
Unseen strength behind my eyes.
For though the flames consumed it all,
I stand amidst the ash’s fall.
The smoke clears out, the night turns new,
Revealing skies of deeper blue.
And from this ending, I will find,
The strength to leave it all behind.
Though betrayal’s fire has had its say,
Its bitter glow won't light my way.
The ashes fall, and so do chains,
For freedom is what now remains.
For though betrayal leaves a scar,
It shows us who we truly are.
From the ruins, we rise once more,
Stronger than we were before.
